Scrabble Workshop |

Student Scrabble Workshops were arranged separately at respective
schools and covered 44 schools in Singapore during the period
of July to December 2002.

Teacher Scrabble Workshop was also organized to:

provide background information of Scrabble

train teachers to organize Scrabble Club and Scrabble Tournament
|

spell out support or services from Mattel and Scrabble Association

| 2.
First Inter-school Scrabble Championship (April
2002) |

| |
|
 |
Key partners included the Singapore Scrabble Association,
Ministry of Information and the Arts (MITA).
|

|
 |
|
MITA has endored the event and include it as part of
the programme of their "Speak Good English Movement"
(SGEM).
|
 |
|
| |
|
 |
It was held on 13th & 14th April 2002 for two categories:
primary schools and secondary schools.
|

|
 |
The Championship was divided into two parts.
|
| |
Part 1
|
| |

Each team shall play 5 games
|
| |

|
A team of 3 players from School A will play against with
a team of 3 players from School B.
|
| |
|
|
| |
Part 2
|
| |

|
1 non-Scrabble player will not be participating in the game,
but instead will note the words formed during the first game
|

|
Then, use those words to put together an entertaining essay.
|
| |

|
Essay will be read out whilst results for the Scrabble Competition
are being tabulated and the most interesting story will win
the top prize.
